We went into Marbella today, parked east of the town and walked a good mile and a half along the promenade at the seafront before heading into the old town for lunch. The old town is really quaint it wasn’t busy so very pleasant to walk around and exactly how the ‘old’ Spain should be.
We had a lovely lunch of paella in the Plaza de los Naranjos, as advised by Alan and Gloria, and I had a half bottle of white Rioja to myself, which has set me up for the rest of the day!
On our way out of Marbella we came across the bullring just as everyone was arriving to watch a bull fight, which if we had known it was on, we would have liked to have watched that too. Not sure about the killing part of the bull bit but it would have been great to soak up the atmosphere and experience the whole event. Will have to google for anymore as we head to Seville.
We wanted to take a walk around Puerto Banus but there was absolutely nowhere suitable to park a campervan so gave up and are now back at the campsite and Tony is having a siesta! The weather has been very changeable today, windy, sunny, cloudy but still pleasant enough to sit outside for lunch without feeling cold.
Really like Marbella and can see why so many tourists like it and would go there for a package holiday too!
Tomorrow we head for the hill town of Ronda.
