A Lovely Meal and The Long Haul South

Yesterday we travelled to the Aire at Nonancourt.

Maidenhead to Nonancourt 3

We met up with Liz, Peter and Nia and before we ventured out for a wonderful meal, we raised a glass (or two!) of champagne to Liz to celebrate her new job in Rennes!

We ate at the wonderful restaurant in Nonancourt, Le Grand Cerf, the food is really delicious, well presented, great value and highly recommended!

As Liz was unable to find a hotel room for the night, she stayed with us in the campervan and we had our own ‘ménage a trois’.  Thank goodness Tony was none the wiser with regard to how this phrase can be interpreted!

This morning we said our farewells to Liz, Peter and Nia, Liz headed back to Paris, Peter and Nia headed for Spain and we headed for Bordeaux, 350 miles away and about 7 hours driving.

Nonancourt to Bordeaux 2

We are now camped at Le Village just outside Bordeaux and hope to venture into Bordeaux for a good look around tomorrow.  The weather is a bit dull with rain from time to time but when has the weather ever stopped us from exploring a new city!

Hey Mum & Dad, we had an adventure of our own as we headed down to Amberly in Sussex! Jason had a great ride, but the conditions were “epic” (also the name of the ride)! Back home tonight chilling with the kiddies!

Looking forward to your next post.

    Loads of love Xx
