After a good night’s sleep on the Aire at Segorbe (road parking next to the train station, not at all noisy and felt safe) we continued into Valencia and out through the other side. What a fantastic looking city and can’t wait to go back on our bikes tomorrow. When we drove through this morning we saw some amazing modern architecture as well as the old to view. After doing a provisions stop at a luxury Lidl (I had to get some Vina Pati in!) we arrived at our final destination, Camping Col Vert in Pinedo just south of Valencia. The site facilities are extremely clean and there is a cycle path back into Valencia and a cycle path going south to Parque Natural de la Albufera.
After lunch we took the cycle path south which follows the coast and past a small inland lake, there is a much larger inland freshwater lagoon just west of the cycle path. A fabulous off road cycle track with lots of paths through to the beach.
I don’t know what it is about Valencia but we seem to be making a habit of getting a puncture when we are here Thankfully, this time is was only Tony’s bike that got a puncture and not the van. At least it gave him something to do when we got back to the campsite!
As you can see from the photographs, we have had our first day of bright blue skies and sunshine, which had to end with our first BBQ as the sun went down.
