Oh dear, we have woken up to cloud and the maximum temperature has been about 11 degrees today! Never fear, time to stay at the campsite this morning have a sort out and do the washing!
After lunch we took our bikes and headed back to the port and then cycled along the cycle path that runs all along the back of the beach, heading north, for about 3kms. The cycle path is really well maintained and towards the end continues on a raised boardwalk. The beach was quite empty today although there were a few families out for a stroll, it really did feel quite chilly.
For the length of the cycle path the seafront is populated with hotels, apartments, restaurants and bars and looks a pretty lively place to be in the summer, the beach can easily accommodate all the holidaymakers.
We retraced our route back to the port and then ventured south of the town and came across a gravel path that ran alongside the large river estuary just south of the port and noticed that the path ran along the back of the campsite.
We continued south into the next small village, took a look at the beach, then headed on back.
The campsite has good clean facilities, there is even your own outside sink to do the washing up on every pitch and is very close to the town, beach and Lidl! There are quite a lot of Spanish on this site and I can’t help but be amazed at how they set up camp with their own microwaves, outdoor kitchens and even a full sized fridge! (Unfortunately, they have now all packed up so unable to take a photo to show you. Do they know something we don’t?!)
Who knows what tomorrow will bring, it all depends on the weather.
