Xabia to Benidorm

We weren’t expecting much of a breakfast for 20 cents but we were not disappointed as Scallops served up a hearty English Breakfast that we ate with Peter and Beryl and which prepared us well for our journey further south.  After breakfast we said our farewells to Peter and Beryl and decided to head for Benidorm after first visiting Cap de Nau, then getting totally lost trying to cut across the peninsula to Calpe which ended up with us going back to Xabia to start again!  Thanks for the wind up Mick Perry as we would need climbing gear to get down to the sea for a swim although it was beautiful!

We had a fabulous drive into Calpe down a super road that snaked its way into Calpe and stopped for lunch along the seafront south of Calpe.

After lunch we continued south to our overnight stop at Camping Benisol just outside Benidorm.  We had a game of tennis and could see Benidorm in the distance from the tennis court as well as another campsite completely full with caravans which had taken permanent residence!

We walked around the campsite and as you can see from the pictures below, it looks as though it is being used as permanent second homes with planters filled with some real and some plastic flowers and garden ornaments!

As we were staying for just one night, we rather felt as though they had put us in the car park but we did have electric and were able to BBQ!

Car park or campervan pitch? You decide!
Car park or campervan pitch?

What will we think of Benidorm?
