L’Estartit

We have spent the last 3 days at Camping Les Medes in L’Estartit, an excellent site and highly recommend it.  The weather has been pretty awful for most of the time that we have been in L’Estartit but we have enjoyed some fabulous company, spending time with Nia & Peter, Mark & Penny and Chris & Jenny.

We had good weather on Monday morning and  managed to cycle into L’Estartit with Peter & Nia then take a walk to then end of the harbour and up to the headland for some great views of the resort and the Isles of Les Medes.

In the afternoon Tony and I cycled to the small town of Torroella de Montgri and back along the river to the beach at L’Estartit about 10 miles in total, the weather closed in but we managed to get back before getting wet.

Yesterday, Nia, Peter, Mark, Penny, Tony and I put on our waterproofs, braved the rain and cycled to the town of Gualta, about 4 miles away, for a fabulous 3 course menu de la dia for €11 each at a super restaurant called l’Horta de can Patxei.  Excellent value for money, friendly staff and a great location.

The heavens really opened up in the evening so we all met up in the Campsite bar to drown our sorrows but we have had a really super time with everyone!
