Launceston Steam & Vintage Rally

Yesterday, we woke up to more sea mist and as Tony had read that there was a Steam and Classic Vehicle show just outside Launceston and  to keep him happy, the boys set off for the show whilst the girls drove into Launceston for a look around and some shopping.  After we arrived in Launceston it soon became clear that no shops were open, apart from the Co-operative!

This lead to a quick walk through the town and then joining the boys at the show.

There were plenty of classic vehicles on show, I saw the first and second cars that I owned, a Morris Minor and a Mark 1 Ford Escort respectively, and Tony reminisced over the old lorries, motorbikes, classic cars and steam engines, boring us all with a history lesson.  We had a job to drag him away from the show and the numerous stalls selling old tools and camping equipment!

I actually quite enjoyed the tractor display!

We left the show and travelled back to the campsite across Bodmin Moor in thick mist and fog but just as we arrived back the sea mist was disappearing over the clifftop and on the horizon was a clear  blue sky enabling us to enjoy a drink outside.

You should tow an old tractor on your travels…handy for when you park on those muddy bits by mistake…
