Today is our final day of our month away exploring Spain and I am writing this blog whilst Tony is driving to Calais! Feeling a bit sad that this journey has come to an end but so looking forward to seeing family and friends again, especially our grandchildren, Lois and Dexter!
Yesterday we drove to Nonancourt, a small town south of Rouen and met up with our friend Liz, who lives in Paris. Nonancourt is a really quaint town and has a superb restaurant, Le Grand Cerf that we visited last night and highly recommend for great food and excellent value. The cheese platter is a must as it contains 20 to 25 various cheeses and you can choose a sample of as many as you like, never seen a cheese board like it in my life! Needless to say we were absolutely stuffed after our four courses plus the complimentary soup taster served with a cheese choux bun and herbed goat’s cheese!
There were four campervans in the Aire and they were all UK registered which made a change for us to be in the company of English campers. One couple we met, Peter and Nia Jennings were a pleasure to spend time with, we were invited into their wonderful Concorde motorhome (bit of motorhome envy took place) and enjoyed a very pleasant time supping wine, eating food and sharing travel experiences. They too have a blog and Peter has written a guide book on motorhoming in France, http://www.motorhomefrance.com so we will be following them very closely from now on!
Liz stayed the night in the Hotel du Grand Cerf and dutifully arrived at the Aire this morning with a fresh baguette and croissants, perfect!
Tony took the opportunity to complete his run for Sport Relief before we had breakfast and then we said our farewells to Peter and Nia before a final walk around Nonancourt and saying au revoir to Liz and ourselves heading for Calais.
We have now arrived home safely and have driven 4,065 miles. It has been a great trip and we can’t wait for the next one which will be a week in Scotland in May.

hi guys! nice to read you got home safe and sound, I had a great time with you and our new friends the Jennings, I’m going to read Peter’s book ASAP!!
I must say I’m a bit sad that I will have no bed time stories for a few weeks again, but I did enjoy the spanish tour a lot and when ever you head to Sevilla Rosie, I’m on!!!

Thanks Liz, I would love to go back to Sevilla Liz with you so we had better add it to the Skiing and New York trips! At this rate, I am going to have to get a paid job!
